Provence & Côte d'Azur · For US, UK & Canadian couples
From San Francisco to Valensole.
Provençal wedding, captured at sunset.
Documentary wedding photography across Provence, the Côte d'Azur, the Luberon, Cassis. Lavender fields, stone bastides, golden light. I know the seasons, the mistral, and the right villas.
Why here, why me
Three reasons US couples book me for Provence
01 · Lavender timing
I know when the fields actually bloom
Lavender peaks late June to mid-July — and is gone by August in Valensole. Couples picking dates without checking miss it by two weeks. I plan around the bloom calendar.
02 · Cost honesty
No transatlantic surcharge
I drive to Provence (12 hours from Leipzig) or fly Marseille. Either way, no transatlantic flight stacking $3–5k onto the invoice. Travel line on the quote is real cost, not padding.
03 · The day itself
Documentary, not posed
No staged "look at the camera" shots. I work quietly. The grandmother dancing on the stone terrace, the lavender field couple shoot at 8:45pm, the Pastis at sunset.

FAQ
Provence-specific questions
When does the lavender actually bloom?
+
In Valensole (the postcard fields), peak bloom is late June to mid-July. Harvesting starts around 20 July and the fields are cut by early August. The Luberon and Sault are 1–2 weeks later. If lavender photos are non-negotiable for you, target a wedding date between June 25 and July 18 — and have me confirm bloom status the week before.
What about the mistral wind?
+
The mistral can blow 50+ km/h for 3–5 days in spring and autumn. It mostly affects outdoor receptions and tent setups. I check the mistral forecast 5 days out and we can pre-plan a backup indoor option with your venue. June–August are typically calmer.
How does the legal marriage paperwork work?
+
Almost identical to Italy — most US couples do their legal ceremony at home and treat the Provence wedding as symbolic. A binding French ceremony requires the couple to be French residents for at least 30 days, which most US couples skip.
Can you recommend a planner?
+
Yes — I have worked with several Provence-based planners across price points. Tell me your guest count and rough budget, and I will send 2–3 introductions. No commission, just honest matches.
